How is Program Director different from other management programs?
First, Program Director is the only comprehensive full-featured
orthodontic software, worldwide, that can be operated by Internet Program
Delivery ('IPD'), or in local area networks ('LANs'). Advanced Ortho's Los
Angeles-based datacenter is now in its
8th year of operating IPD systems located throughout the United
States.
Second,
our orthodontic practice management software integrates and
internally manages all the programs that make up your office system.
This includes
imaging, digital radiography, automated patient communication systems, patient information and education programs, 3D digital models, etc. Whether your practice operates in paperless mode, or is just extensively integrated, Program Director manages the entire office system.

Is Program Director sold in modules?
No. We specialize in developing software that will be used by sophisticated
and
busy orthodontic practices, so our program
includes these standard features that such offices require:
Patient database, accounts receivable, recalls, referral tracking, automated letter system, reporting and data query system, etc. Also includes scheduling with automatic substitutions, a license for unlimited workstations, patient-flow system (check-in, on-deck & checkout),
electronic insurance claims submission, electronic treatment charting, notes & plan, daily accounting, and
basic time clock. Also included are integrations with: electronic fund transfer programs, NEA's FastAttach™
system, automated patient communication systems, interactive patient communication & education programs, 3D digital models,
fingerprint scanners, digital imaging and digital radiography systems.
The only extra charge option for Program Director is:
- Adding other specialties to the system (available from our affiliate,
Advanced Dental Systems, LLC)

What about technical support for your software? Program enhancements?
Instant technical support for Program Director is available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET, Monday through
Friday (except holidays), and when you call during those hours you
immediately
talk to a technician. Unlimited toll free telephone calls and
Internet support is included. HELP is provided by highly trained technicians and
most issues are resolved during your initial call.
Significant enhancements for Program Director are provided, usually about four times each year. Updates to correct known problems or deficiencies are provided as needed.
Technical support services and program enhancements are provided under contract and at additional charge.

Why should I purchase a support / enhancement agreement?
Although our software is extremely stable
and trouble free, technical support is an invaluable service that you will quickly come to appreciate. In addition to Program Director, there are several components that make up the typical network, i.e. operating and/or networking software, ancillary software, integrated systems, and, of course, the hardware.
All of these components will, at one time or another, experience problems. When they do, you need a single number to call for expert help in determining
whether the management software is the cause of the problem. Knowing that you will get that assistance is the peace of mind a support agreement will bring to your practice.

Any additional software license fee if there are multiple doctors in the practice?
Not if they are practicing the same specialty. An additional fee is charged to accommodate more than one
dental specialty.
Any additional software license fee for multiple offices?
No. There is an additional fee charged for
supporting
multiple
offices with LANs (does not apply to IPD users), but only if they are open simultaneously.

Is your software stable?
YES.
Program Director has an exemplary record of stability. In its 11-year operating
history, our software has never caused a system 'crash.'
Does your software have an on-line HELP system?
YES. Program Director has an extensive HELP system. The system contains highly detailed instructions and can actually be used as a tutorial.
Do you provide training for your software?
YES. Although Program Director is very intuitive and easy to use, it is
essential that clients be trained in its use. For instance, we allow users to
setup many program areas to conform to the way they use the system. Without training,
clients would never know how to set up all those features. Typically, clients are required to receive 5 days of training
and can use Advanced Ortho's unique Internet
Training Delivery ('ITD') system.

What integrations are possible with your software?
We specialize in providing integrations with
any ancillary systems or products that would typically be used in an orthodontic office. These include:
- Digital imaging systems
- Digital radiography systems
- Automated patient communication systems - telephone or Internet based
- Interactive patient information/education products
-
Biometric
Identification Systems
(Fingerprint Scanners)
- Flat Bed scanners
- 3D digital electronic models
- Electronic signature devices
- Credit card processing systems
- Electronic signature pads
- NEA's FastAttach™ system
In addition, Program Director integrates with the most widely used software in Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher.

Can you electronically convert data
from my present management software?
In almost all cases, YES. However, the amount of data that will convert is
restricted due to the wide disparity in the methodologies and formats used by the various programs to store and manipulate data. When a
purchase agreement is signed, it contains a
list of items that we will convert and insert into our program, as well as specifics on how we will provide the remaining data, in an electronic format, that we elect not to convert and enter due to the potential for error. A fee is charged for all electronic data conversions.
Am I required to purchase my hardware from you?
No.
We do not sell hardware. AOS will provide specifications and you
purchase the hardware wherever you choose.

What are your minimum hardware requirements?

LAN is as follows:
